Gen-AI Agents: Wizard of Oz

A large tech company sought to understand how consumers collaborate with AI agents in creating and executing plans, particularly for planning and studying, to identify the needs for interface agentic AI. Ipsos conducted one-on-one interviews with a diverse group of participants, including teenagers, young adults, and adults, who engaged with an agentic AI using a Wizard of Oz approach. The study explored how participants plan and how they wished to engage AI to plan events, purchase skincare, and study.

Findings revealed the level of control consumers desire to relieve privacy concerns and pinpointed strengths and weaknesses in existing AI interfaces. The results provided insights for improving AI plan and task-tracking capabilities.

Validating a pen injector needle for U.S. release

We helped a client who was unfamiliar with FDA regulations validate their product for submission, by providing the most up-to-date guidance and research.

Our UX researchers developed study materials including creating a URRA developed from the client's UOUP. There were 30 60-minute sessions conducted for two user groups, adult patients and adolescents, where participants simulated an injection. In addition to the pen injector needle and its instructions for use, participants were also provided with the pen injector and its accompanying materials as they would in a real-world scenario.

The results revealed that the instructions for use for the pen injector needle, coupled with the needle's design, mitigated use-associated risks. Ipsos' human factors report provided a thorough analysis of user interaction and safety, which facilitated seamless incorporation into the client's FDA submission.

Dedication to inclusive design & accessibility

Accessibility Study for a Financial Services Client

A Financial Services client sought to identify accessibility issues in the consumer credit card application process, focusing on users who utilize assistive technology. The aim was to build the product team's understanding of accessibility in credit card applications.

Participants, using their own devices, were provided a link to the production site to simulate the application process, revealing shortcomings in digital environments for users with low or no vision. Challenges included drop-down menus, error messages, and dense T&Cs, which were problematic for those relying on screen readers.

Ipsos UX provided recommendations that enabled the credit card company to enhance their process, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for all users.

Global design thinking training program for pharmaceutical organization

We worked with a global pharmaceutical company to embed design thinking across departments, creating a training program for teams like UX, HR, engineering, and leadership. This project advances user-focused principles organization-wide.

We developed an 8-module program with presentations and videos, covering both theory and practice of design thinking. We also created 25 branded templates in multiple formats to ensure consistent use and application.

The program is implemented via global workshops targeting UX leaders. This approach empowers employees at all levels to apply design thinking in their roles, promoting a user-centered culture.
